The engine is said to start immediately when cold, without smoke, and the transmission is likewise reported to change gear properly. A new rear end with 3.70 gears was installed 1,000 miles ago.

in. OHV Thriftmaster inline-six was the base engine for these three-quarter ton trucks in 1948. The original literature boasted of 90 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque at 1,200 to 2,000 RPM. the engine idles normally after a cold start, and smokes slightly on start up. The original air cleaner has been replaced with a small

diameter unit. Engine work performed in 2018 included a carburetor rebuild, and new tune-up parts. As was standard equipment on all Chevrolet 3600s when new in 1948, this example is fitted with a three-speed manual transmission. All of the three-speed 3600s included a column-mounted shifter, which was advertised as offering more passenger cabin space.

all gears are in working order including reverse. The truck received a full repaint! The truck was painted inside and out, and the repaint carries through to the engine bay. the paint quality is excellent with no swirls!

The Regal Red paint is stated to date to the 2010 restoration.

the paint has minimal orange peel and remains in very good condition, with no body or paint damage noted, save for a few light scratches that have been touched up. The emblems are stated to have been new replacements. there are no signs of rust or rust repair present on this vehicle,

and all body panels appear “solid. ” All weather seals are described as being in good condition and no water leaks are evident. All lighting is stated to work properly. The bumpers are said to have been replated, while the rest of the chrome and brightwork remains bright and well polished.

Small dings are visible on the fender top trim. The heat-pressed black vinyl pleated seats are stated to be original and in very good condition, with light scratches visible and with full movement on their tracks without issue. The carpeting appears to be in fair condition, with wear visible at the heel area below the accelerator pedal. A replacement perforated vinyl headliner was recently installed and is described as “correct. ” There is headliner material puckering around the C-pillar.

The top is described as being in perfect operating order, with no leaks. All of the glass is original except for

the window in the convertible top. All the exterior lights are reported functional, including the turn indicators. The underside of the car, which has seen extensive suspension work, presents cleanly. This Mustang is being sold with an additional convertible top.

One of 8,184 such sports roadsters produced that year, this 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL is described as “an entirely original example with barely more than 19,000 miles, ” which he believes to be accurate based on its odometer reading and the fact that it has been reportedly owned by one family since new.

The paint, powertrain, and interior

are “as they left the factory in West Germany, ” with the interior described as being in “as-new” condition, and with chassis components that may be original. The 450SL was powered in 1979 by Mercedes-Benz’s 4,520-cc OHC V-8. With a compression ratio of 8.8:1 and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, the engine was rated by the manufacturer at 215 horsepower when new.

The engine in this 450SL is said to be original to the car, with no stated rebuild history of either the engine or three-speed automatic transmission. The engine is said to start normally without smoke, and the transmission reportedly functions without issues. A minor oil leak at the pan is noted. The engine bay appears

The heater and air conditioning are described as operable. The trunk presents as being strongly clean and includes what appears to be the original first aid kit. The suspension components as being in fair condition and the four-wheel disc brakes function as intended. The alloy wheels are described as free of curb rash.

“Its drivetrain has matching numbers, ”!

Rebuilding of the 350-horsepower 396-cu. in. V-8 had already been “completed in 2016 and 3,050 miles has been put on it since. ” The engine features a two-bolt main block that was bored over, and new pistons were fitted. To boost output, a hotter camshaft, Hedman headers, exhaust with a crossover

pipe and Flowmaster mufflers, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, and an MSD electronic ignition system were swapped in. He advises to pump the gas pedal a few times on cold start and says that there are “no fluid leaks” from the engine, and the four-speed manual transmission “shifts like new.

” As part of its rebuild, the Muncie four-speed was modified by fitting “an 0.80:1 fourth gear in place of the 1.00:1 gear to lower highway rpm, ”. And he notes that the 12-bolt rear axle is equipped with Positraction and a 3.55:1 gearset. During the restoration, “the quarter panels were replaced, due to rust. ” The paint is “very good, and was almost perfect

when new in 2020, ” and that there are no swirls, but he does note are a few scratches where the trunk lid contacts the latch. The glass is “very good, ” with no scratches or cracks, the seals are in “perfect” condition, and the lights work.

Per the cowl data plate, this Chevelle originally had a black vinyl top (code “B” after the paint code), but decided to go with the painted roof look. the seats are in “excellent” condition, the carpet and headliner are “new, ” and the heat, AM radio, and air-conditioning unit from Vintage Air, all work. The only gauge in the optional cluster that’s inaccurate is the oil pressure, which “reads high, ” New bushings, shocks,

ball-joints, and steering linkage were installed during the restoration, but the factory coil springs were retained.

The “wheels are perfect, ” he adds, and the BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires are said to be about five years old with 3,000 miles on them. The SS “drives and brakes straight, ” and the power steering has a “little play like it did when new, ” but no leaks, that the power disc/drum brakes are “perfect, ” and that the car “rides and handles like it originally did. ”

in. V-8 engine rated at 225 horsepower, which was one of the two engines available with the GT package. idles and runs well, with no smoke on cold starts. It is fitted with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor,

along with aftermarket finned valve covers and air cleaner. There is some reported minor seepage at the rear main seal, but the four-speed manual transmission is dry and is said to shift smoothly. There is also some weeping at the rear axle, which, according to the “A” in the axle code position of the body tag has a 3.00:1 ratio.

The engine compartment shows some wear in the restoration, including some paint flaking off the radiator. The radiator itself has been fitted with an aftermarket overflow tank.
